Adjacent to Pitch pine - Heath peat woodland (G1 type) to the west and extends with varying spruce dominance to the cliffs of the Allegheny Front on the East.;Open Conifer - Heath woodland on the Allegheny Front on a large flat expanse of sandstone bedrock. Spruce seedlings abundant, under dense thickets of Kalmia and Rhododendron. May be slow succession back to Spruce forest after spread of Pitch Pine from wetland after 1900 fires.
